New Music Studio at St Francis CE Primary School hits a high note!

A primary school in East Oxford has launched an exciting new music initiative designed to enrich the lives of its pupils and the wider community.

In partnership with Good Vibes Music Academy, the school has created a vibrant, state-of-the-art music space that will offer children unique opportunities to explore and develop their musical talents.

The new music studio has been thoughtfully designed to inspire creativity and engagement. Equipped with a wide range of instruments and cutting-edge music technology, the space will host lessons in guitar, drums, vocals, piano, bass, music production, and more.

As part of the school’s vision of ‘living life to the fullest’, St Francis is committed to extending learning beyond the classroom and ensuring every child – regardless of background or circumstance – has access to a broad and enriching education. This initiative is one of the many ways the school is able to achieve this.

Good Vibes Music Academy will deliver high-quality music lessons from the new studio, giving both pupils and members of the local community the opportunity to develop their talents, whatever stage they are at in their musical journeys. As part of this partnership, and in exchange for the use of the school’s facilities, the academy will also provide ukulele lessons for all pupils, ensuring every child is given the opportunity to learn an instrument during their time at the school.

Fleur Belcher, Co-Headteacher at St Francis explained: "We are incredibly excited about what this partnership and learning space means for our children and our community. Music has the power to inspire, connect, and transform lives, and this new studio gives our pupils access to experiences that will stay with them for years to come."

The school, which is part of the Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust, also hopes that that new initiative will help St Francis to become recognised centre for music within the local area. Good Vibes Music Academy will also be opening doors for both pupils and members of the local community to begin or continue their musical journeys.

Steve Christmas, the founder of the Good Vibes Academy, shared his vision for the new space:

“This initiative is about creating a vibrant, inclusive space where children can discover their passion for music. We want them to laugh and thrive here. We’re excited to bring high-quality teaching, modern technology, and real energy into the school—and to help grow a music hub that the whole community can be proud of.”
