Why work for ODST

What makes an ODST school different and a place where you would want to work?

We are proud of our roots in the Diocese of Oxford, and the support framework that provides to all ODST schools (community and church) and our people are passionate about providing the best educational experience possible to the children and young people who attend our schools.

We also have a strong school effectiveness programme, developed with the input of Headteachers and a regular programme of  CPD activities to enable up-skilling and knowledge sharing across member schools. We are keen to promote staff development by identifying leadership opportunities and long-term succession planning needs.

Don’t just take our word for it though……

‘High quality training, often provided by the Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust, has helped to improve the quality of teaching’

St Christopher’s, Cowley, Ofsted report Jan 17

‘Since the school became part of the Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust, half-termly visits from trust officers have ensured that the school continues to meet all statutory requirements. More recently they have supported the development of your middle leaders’ skills. The trust also offers training for all teachers and governors in an increasing range of subject areas’

St Christopher’s, Langford, Ofsted, Oct 17

‘You and other leaders have worked effectively to improve the quality of teaching, including by accessing high-quality training provided by the ODST…..Your plans, such as to increase your monitoring of the effectiveness of teaching, are well judged. So too are plans to provide additional training and support for leaders, including from the ODST’

Bampton CE Primary, Ofsted, Nov 17

‘The MAT has provided a high level of support, encouragement and challenge to leaders. The school improvement adviser from the MAT visits the school regularly and has an accurate understanding of the school’s strengths and where further improvements are needed
